EVENT STAFF WILL REMOVE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS AND ELECTRONIC WASTE (HHW AND E-WASTE) FROM YOUR TRUNK/PICK-UP BED.

Properly dispose of certain types of household hazardous waste (HHW) and electronic waste. All containers must be clearly labeled to identify the contents. Maximum amount of paint/motor oil accepted is 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip.  Participants are strongly encouraged to remain in their vehicles. 

Location: 23825 Stuart Ranch Road (Malibu City Hall)

Time: 10am-2pm

Accepted materials list:

• Paint (water-based only)
• Used motor oil
• Anti-freeze
• Automotive and household batteries
• Compact fluorescent bulbs (unbroken)
• Electronics

 The City schedules its events on the 3rd Saturday in February, April, June, August, and October. Rain cancels event.

DOCUMENT SHREDDING

This drive-thru event, so residents will not be able to wait and watch the bin be shredded. Participants are strongly encouraged to remain in their vehicles. All shredded material will be recycled. Limit of 5 boxes (or 5 13-gallon bags) per household. Acceptable document shred items include: 

• Tax forms and bank statements
• Pay stubs
• Checkbooks
• Insurance policy information
• Medical information
• Legal files
• Utility bills
• Credit card statements
• Credit card offers
• Receipts and invoices
• Investment records

The City schedules its events on the 3rd Saturday in February, April, June, August, and October. Rain cancels event. Future events are scheduled for:

• June 20, 2026
• August 15, 2026
• October 17, 2026 (with document shredding)
